Abstract

This essay deals with the role of Thomas Mann’s thought in Furio Jesi’s works and intellectual biography. The article outlines Jesi’s critique of Right-Wing culture, which he sees as marked by the persistence of certain metaphysical and political assumptions in German colture between XIX and XX century. The article also focuses on Jesi’s epistemological contribution to the scientific study of myth, with particular emphasis on the relationships between mythology and literature as well as on his activity as literary critic and writer.
